Professional Development

Score 4 Reading packages include a manual, which provides background information and detailed instructions for delivering this program without other training.  Additionally, Score 4 Reading provides unlimited support to teachers via telephone or email.

While additional training for the effective use of Score 4 Reading is not required, teachers, administrators and reading coaches can benefit from an in-depth presentation on the theories and methods that are driving the application.  Dr. Schwimmer offers a workshop that discusses these issues as well as the research that supports these theories.

Participants can receive a graduate credit for a full day workshop and a follow-up written assignment with extra email contact.  PDU's are also available.

Any application should be driven by a methodology (what the program is accomplishing) and in turn, the methodology should be driven by proven theories (for example, when a brain is reading well, why it is happening).  When teachers have the opportunity to understand what is driving a program, they are better prepared to use it or even rethink it and make it better

A graduate level class in the "why" and the "what" ought to allow participants to invent their own "How To":

Half Day Session (no college credit)

Professional Development half-day sessions cost $600 plus travel expenses.

Full Day Session (one college credit)

Professional Development full day sessions cost $1,000 plus travel expenses.
There is an additional cost of $150 per person for those receiving a graduate credit.
